PHNOM PENH TO SIEM REAP 7 DAYS 6 NIGHTS

Day1: Phnom Penh – Arrival
Upon arrival our guide will meet you at the airport and bring you to the hotel (Early check-in is NOT included and subject to hotel’s availability). We begin with a city tour, visiting the Royal Palace, the Silver Pagoda, the National Museum and Tuol Sleng Museum.

Day2: Phnom Penh – Siem Reap
Today we transfer to the airport to board the plane to Siem Reap.  Upon arrival our guide will meet you at the airport and bring you to the hotel (Early check-in is NOT included and subject to hotel’s availability). In Siem Reap we will visit Preah Ang Chheck/Chhom temple and Angkor National Museum.

Day3: Siem Reap – Remote Temple of Beng Melea & Monk Blessing
Today we drive out of town to the most remote temple ruin, Beng Mealea. This sandstone temple is surrounded by moats and contains extensive carvings of scenes from Hindu mythology. We return to Siem Reap town and visit Wat Damnak, one of the most beautiful pagodas. Here we can participate in a private good luck blessing ceremony, performed by local monks residing in the temple. Afterwards, a sacred thread will be tied around your wrist for protection.

Day4: Siem Reap – Angkor Temples
This morning we visit the ancient Khmer civilization site of Hariharalaya. Here we have the oldest temples in the Angkor area, referred to as the Rolous group. We will visit Bakong temple and enjoy a30 minute ox-cart ride through the village before we stop for lunch with a local family. Next we drive35km to visit the small, but magnificent, Banteay Srei. The temple’s pink sandstone structure bears a series of striking sculptures, lintels, pediments and friezes. On the way back we also visit Banteay Samre temple.

Day5: Siem Reap – Temples of Angkor
In early morning we begin with a visit to Ta Prohm, nearly disappeared into the jungle, it is an oddly haunting and exotic scene. We continue on to visit one of the world’s most impressive ruins at Angkor Wat. Next we will explore the mysterious Royal city - Angkor Thom City & Bayon.  We will travel further to the surroundings of the complex such as the Baphou, Elephant Terraces, the Leper King Terrace and the Royal Palace. Lastly we visit Preah Khan temple

Day6: Siem Reap – Kulen Mountain – Waterfall & 1000 lingas
Today we drive 40km north of Angkor Wat to the Phnom Kulen mountain range. We begin the rather steep climb up by car. On top of the mountain we visit a modern pagoda that offers stunning views over the Angkor area. Visit the reclining Buddha statue and wash your hands at the Linga statue said to purify the mind and body. Continue on to the River of One Thousand Lingas and the nearby waterfall. We can take a swim as we stop to enjoy a picnic lunch. If time allows, we can walk the area with the guide. We return to Siem Reap in the late afternoon.

Day7: Siem Reap – Cooking Class & Departure
First we visit Angkor Silk Farm to see how silk is traditionally made. This farm helps disadvantaged women to support their families. After we will meet with a Cambodian chef in Sojourn Villa and learn how to make three Cambodian dishes. This includes a visit with a local family to learn about the local food customs. Afterwards we will return to hotel and you are free to spend the rest of the day at your leisure before heading to the airport for departure.
