SIEM REAP – ANGKOR CYCLING TOURS 5 DAYS 4 NIGHTS

Day 1: Siem Reap Arrival – Countryside Cycling and Tonle Sap Lake Kayaking (Cycling: 45km)
On arrival at Siem Reap International, meet our local guide and transfer to the hotel for check-in (Early check-in is NOT included and subject to hotel’s availability). Transfer by van from the hotel to West Baray, a man-made lake from the Angkor Period in the 11th. Century. We will start the cycle from West Baray down south along a small cannel to Tonle Sap Lake. Once we arrive at the pier, we will leave our bikes to board a local boat. We will cruise down the floating village and transfer to kayaks for a 20 minute paddle trip. Lunch will be provided at a local floating house. We will board the boat once more to travel further into the lake and transfer to the kayaks for an hour trip through the mangrove forest. We will get back to our long tail boat to return to the pier and cycle back to Siem Reap via Phnom Krom. Dinner will be provided at a local restaurant

Day 2: Siem Reap – BanteaySamre and BanteaySrei temples (Cycling: 75km)              
Begin with a cycle through the rice paddies, villages and countryside to arrive at BanteaySamre temple. Continue cycling though the countryside, Khmer Village and Phnom Bok, at one point which we will stop to enjoy lunch at Bong Thom House. Next we will cycle further to BanteaySrei “Citadel of the Women”. It is one of Angkor’s most significant structures with walls decorated with elaborate and remarkably preserved carvings. Cycle back to Siem Reap.

Day 3: Siem Reap – Angkor Temples (Cycling: 45km)
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. We will begin with a cycle through the jungle to Phnom Bakheng Mountain for our first round of temple visits. We will spend about 1 hour visiting this temple which is the biggest religious building in the world. Continue to ride to BanteayKdei and Ta Prohm temples. Eat lunch at a local restaurant before visiting Preah Khan and Bayon temples in Angkor Thom City.

Day 4: Siem Reap – Phnom Bok – BengMelea (Cycling: 75km)
A short drive out of town will bring you to Phnom Bok, an ancient temple atop a small hill. Climb 640 steps up to enjoy the stunning view which overlooks the Phnom Kulen Hills, Angkor area and Siem Reap town. Explore the surroundings discovering old canons and other war remnants. Return to ground level to begin the cycle through paddy fields and local villages. We will have lunch at a local restaurant in Stung Trachak. Next we cycle on to BengMealea temple which is largely overrun by vegetation with the stone walls in ruins adding to its unique charm. Climb over stone blocks and walk through narrow passageways to explore BengMelea in full.  The van/truck will transport us back to Siem Reap.

Day 5: Siem Reap – Departure
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. Take time to enjoy Siem Reap on your own before checking out and transferring
to the airport for departure.
