Day 01: Luang Prabang – Arrival
Arrival in Laos, DGB - Indochina Today Travel’s guide and driver will welcome you at the airport then transfer to hotel. Your Laos vacation begins with your arrival at the centre of religious life in Laos. This is the UNESCO World Heritage city of Luang Prabang. Our Laos tour guide will meet you and transfer you to your hotel. After check in you will be excorted to visit some of the many historic and interesting sights Luang Prabang has to offer. The National Museum, the impressive stupa of Wat Visoun and the shrine of Wat Mai are all close by and wonderful examples of the historic past of Laos. In the middle of town the hill that is known as Mount Phousi rises 150 metres about the city. We will climb up the 355 steps to the summit for wonderful views of the city and the nearby Mekong River. On the way you will get to see the gilded stupa and other historical monuments. Later in the evening we will vist the ubiquitous Night Market where many different fabrics and handicrafts are on sale. The first day of your Laos trip ends with an overnight stay at your hotel.

Day 02: Luang Prabang – Pak Ou Cave 
After your enjoyable breakfast at your hotel, your Laos tour guide takes you to the nearby pier for a short river cruise. The Mekong River is beautiful and makes for a relaxing start to the day. The surrounding countryside is both tranquil and picturesque. We will take you to visit the village of Ban Xanghai, famous for its distilled local rice wine. You will then arrive at the mysterious Pak Ou Caves. These are packed full with thousands of golden statues of the Buddha. On the return journey you will take a short drive to Ban Zang Khong. In this village the local people hand weave beautiful silk materials. The day ends with your Laos tour guide returning you to your hotel for the overnight stay.

Day 03: Luang Prabang - Kuang Sii Falls 
Once again your breakfast as part of your Laos vacation will be at the hotel. Shortly afterward we will take you to the impressive Kuang Sii Falls. Here you can relax and if you wish, swim in the beautiful warm waters. If you choose, it is an easy trek up to the top of the falls. Returning from the Kuang Sii, we will next visit the Black Hmong Village, where the hill tribe people have lived an unchanged existence for generations. Plenty of souvenirs are on offer and after this visit we will return to Luang Prabang and your hotel. Overnight accommodation, courtesy of this Laos tour, is at this location.

Day 04: Luang Prabang – Xieng Khuoang 
Taking the 6 to 7 hour drive to Xieng Khuoang. Between 1964 and 1973 this whole area was devastated by American bombing and is the most bombed area per capita in the world. We will take you to see the Plain Of Jars, an extraordinary piece of local history. Hundreds of stone jars, of origin unknown, litter the countryside. We will also make time to take in the villages and old capital of Muang Khoun Province. This area is home to the fascinating Hmong hill tribe people. Day 4 of your Laos vacation ends with an overnight stop in Phonsavanh.

Day 05: Xieng Khuoang – Vientiane 
After breakfast in Phonsavanh, your Laos tour vacation allows a brief time to be spent at the central market. Our driver will then collect you for transfer to the airport for the brief flight to Vientiane. (flight QV402 at 14.10) Upon arrival in the country’s capital you will be taken to your hotel where this Laos tour has organised your overnight stay.

Day 06: Vientiane – City Tours 
This day starts with breakfast at the hotel then your Laos tour guide will escort you to see the City sights. Wat Sisaket houses 6840 miniature statues of the Buddha and is a must see for any Laos vacation. The famous Emerald Buddha housed in Bangkok’s Wat Prakeow, used to be kept in Wat Prakeo here in Vientiane. Now it is home to many other statues. On the way to see That Luang Stupa you may stop to photograph the Patuxai monument. This victory arch commemorates the war dead and is known locally as The Vertical Runway, because it was built from concrete that was intended for use on the airport. After a brief visit to the textile village of Ban Nong Buathong we will return to the hotel. Your night time accommodation has been arranged here by your Laos tour organiser.

Day 07 : Vientiane – Pakse - Boliven Plateua – Pakse 
Indochina Today Travel's tour guide will transfer you to the airport for the early morning flight to Pakse. You will take the flight QV 512 at 06:30. You will be met at the airport by one of our Laos tour guides and driven to Saravanh Province via Tateng. The scenery is superb as we travel towards the Tad Fan waterfall. Local farmers grow coffee, tea, cardamom, bananas and many other crops. Time will be made for you to wander off the beaten track to discover this lushly vegetated area. This part of your Laos vacation will give you a glimpse of the way of life on the Boloven Plateau. Upon arrival at the waterfall we will visit the nearby villages of Alak, Nge and Katu. The day is completed by arrival and check in at your hotel. Over accommodation has been arranged in Pakse by your Laos tour operator.

Day 08 : Paske – Wat Phou – Don Khong 
After breakfast on day 8 your Laos tour driver will take you to the Khong Island region. Here you will visit the dramatic pre-Angkorian ruins of Wat Phu. You may explore the hilltop ruins of what is yet another Unesco World Heritage site. The spectacular Khmer ruins date back to the 9th century. You will continue on your road journey into the 4,000 islands region and then catch the ferry to the island itself. Here, your Laos tour has arranged overnight accommodation.

Day 09: Don Khong – Khone Island – Paske
You will take breakfast again at your hotel, before boarding a long tail boat and travelling to the Don Khone area. On the way we will see the Liphi waterfall or “The Corridor Of The Devil”. Returning to the mainland we will visit the fishing village of Ban Nakasang before heading out to see Khone Phapheng, the biggest waterfall in Southeast Asia. This spectacular waterfall, close to the border with Cambodia, is surrounded by lush vegetation and incredible wildlife. We then return to Pakse in the afternoon where you may relax and retire for the evening.

Day 10: Paske – Departure
The final day of this Laos trip is free time spent at your hotel until your Laos tour guide once again transfers you to the airport for the next destination on your Laos vacation. The beautiful city of Luang Prabang is the ancient capital of the Lan Xang Kingdom. This Laos Vacation will allow you to experience the wonderful city architecture as well as the stunning surrounding scenery and extraordinary waterfalls. Luang Prabang has seen many name changes in its lifetime. In the 8th century it was called Muang Swa after King Khun Xua. Later this changed to Xieng Dong and Xieng Thong. Finally it was finally renamed Luang Prabang.
