Day 1: Siem Reap – Arrival – Angkor National Museum – Sunset with champagne in rice paddies
Upon arrival our guide will meet you at the airport and bring you to the hotel (Early check-in is NOT included and subject to hotel’s availability). We begin with a trip to Preah Ang Chheck/Chhom temple, and Angkor National Museum. We head to Tonle Sap Lake where we will enjoy the sunset over the rice paddies with a bottle of champagne. Lastly we return to Siem Reap town and eat a welcome dinner in a local restaurant

Day2: Siem Reap – Outlying Temples
This morning we visit the ancient Khmer civilization site of Hariharalaya. Here we have the oldest temples in the Angkor area, referred to as the Rolous group. We will visit Bakong temple and enjoy a30 minute ox-cart ride through the village before we stop for lunch with a local family. Next we drive35km to visit the small, but magnificent, Banteay Srei. The temple’s pink sandstone structure bears a series of striking sculptures, lintels, pediments and friezes. On the way back we also visit Banteay Samre temple

Day3: Siem Reap – Angkor Highlighted Temples
In early morning we begin with a visit to Ta Prohm, nearly disappeared into the jungle, it is an oddly haunting and exotic scene. We continue on to visit one of the world’s most impressive ruins at Angkor Wat. Next we will explore the mysterious Royal city - Angkor Thom City & Bayon.  We will travel further to the surroundings of the complex such as the Baphou, Elephant Terraces, the Leper King Terrace and the Royal Palace. Lastly we visit Preah Khan temple

Day4: Siem Reap – Cooking Class – Kayaking
Today you will drive out to a local market to get an idea of the local’s daily activities. We will meet with a Cambodian chef in Sojourn Villa and learn how to make three Cambodian dishes. This includes a visit with a local family to learn about the local food customs. In the afternoon we will head to Tonle Sap Lake to embark on a local boat and cruise to the floating village of Mechrey. The boat will take us out to the Mangrove forests where we will transfer to our kayaks to explore deeper.
