MEKONG RIVER AND PREAH VIHEA CYCLING 7 DAYS 6 NIGHTS

Day1: Phnom Penh – KohDach Island – Kampong Cham (Cycling: 85km)                 
Starting at 8am we will depart Phnom Penh. We will embark on a local boat to cruise for 90 minutes along the Mekong River to arrive at KohDach Island. On arrival we will cycle through the villages where you will get to see locals making silk by hand. We continue cycling along the Mekong River to Kampong Cham. Lunch will be provided at a local restaurant on the way. At Kampong Cham we will check in at the hotel before cycling to visit NokorBatchey Temple. Later we will enjoy dinner at a local restaurant.

Day2: Kampong Cham – Kratie (Cycling: 95km)
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. Today we begin with a cycle along the Mekong Riverside viewing the daily life of the locals including fishing activities and the daily farming activities of planting; harvesting the corn, beans, rice, and tobacco. Lunch will be provided on the way. The remainder of the trip to Kratie will be done by the support van. On arrival we will check in at the hotel, eat dinner, and view the sunset from the river bank of Mekong River.

Day3: Kratie – Stung Treng (Cycling: 95km)                                                                     
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. We will cycle from the town of Kratie along the riverside of Mekong River to Stung Treng. We will stop at PrekKampei to board the local boat. During the boat ride we will eat lunch and watch for dolphins. After lunch we will continue biking and after reaching the 95km mark for the day we will board the van for the remainder of the trip to Stung Treng. On arrival we will check in at the hotel and have dinner at a restaurant on the river bank.

Day4: Stung Treng – PreahVihea (Cycling: 95km)
Have breakfast at a local restaurant before we start the cycle to PreahVihea province. The cycle is long but on a paved road. The scenery along the ride is of fruit plantations and jungles. After reaching the 95km mark for the day we will board the van for the remainder of the trip. We will stop at PreahVihea temple for dinner and check in at the hotel for overnight stay.

Day5: PreahVihea Temples – Koh Ker (Cycling: 45km)
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before being transferred by our support van to the foot of PreahVihea Mountain. PreahVihear is a temple situated atop a 525-metre cliff in the Dangrek Mountains close to the Thailand border. The temple has the most spectacular setting of all the temples and has so been the subject of ownership disputes between the two neighbouring countries. Cambodia was officially awarded control of PreahVihear in 1962 by the International Court of Justice and it is now listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Lunch will be provided at local restaurant. After lunch we will cycle 45 km along the main road to Koh Ker and transfer by van for the remainder of the trip. On arrival, we visit the Koh Ker temples. The Koh Ker site is dominated by Prasat Thom, a 30 meter tall temple raising high above the plain and surrounding forest. Currently, access to the top is closed. Dinner will be server at a local restaurant. Overnight stay in a basic guesthouse.

Day6: Koh Ker – BengMelea – Homestay in Kampong Kleang (Cycling: 95km)
Enjoy breakfast at a home-stay. Today we visit some temples of the remaining temples around Koh Ker. Continue through the jungle to BengMelea Temple. Lunch will be provided at a local restaurant. After lunch, we will visit BengMelea Temple for 45 minutes before heading to Kampong Khleang Village at Tonle Sap Lake via support van. Here we will have dinner and stay overnight at a local home.

Accommodation: Homestay in Kampong Khleang Village (Stilt house in the Tonle Sap Lake)
 
Day7: Kampong Khleang – Kampong Phluk – Siem Reap (Cycling: 22km)                 
After breakfast, we will embark on a local boat to cruise through Tonle Sap Lake. We will arrive at Kampong Phluk Village where we will visit the local houses, pagodas and primary schools. Next we cycle through unpaved villages to Siem Reap. Lunch will be provided on the way. Services are finished after the drop off at Siem Reap.
